Cleo Caldwell's research concerns social relationships and social supports within African American communities. Current research activities include the following: (1) the mental health consequences of adolescent childbearing within an intergenerational family context; (2) the influences of self-efficacy and exercise on the sexual behaviors of African American adolescent females; and (3) the family support functions of Black churches.
